My journey to illustration and live illustration has been a long and winding one.

I’ve worked as an editor, book designer, feature writer, PR person and au pair.
As a high school student, I had a brief but happy gig illustrating caddis flies for an entomologist at Canterbury Museum – using a microscope and Rotring ink pen. I sketched Mt Ruapehu from the car at aged 7, got my first diary at 8, and immersed myself in writing and illustrating school project books at 11.

I’ve continued with variations on this theme ever since!

Being part of Wellington Urban Sketchers, and by extension a global community of sketchers has inspired me and sparked a regular art practice that continues to underpin my professional work.

What hasn’t changed is the joy of capturing stories and experiences with words and images. And the buzz of a beautiful page composition.
